Gardner Kansas is the second fastest growing city in Kansas among cities with at least 10,000 residents.  Gardner now has 14,000+ residents and is located in Johnson County Kansas.   Gardner's population has tripled over the past couple of decades and the city's growth can be attributed to Gardner's proximity just to the southwest of Kansas City.  This allows Gardner KS to take part in Kansas City's role as a business and transportation center in the United States.  Being located southwest of Olathe Kansas along I-35 makes Gardner an affordable community with a quiet lifestyle, while remaining close to the center of business opportunities.  Gardner is attracting younger families and the average Gardner resident is 31 years in age.

Gardner Kansas is the unique location where the Oregon and Santa Fe Trails divide.  This junction can be attributed to Gardner's formation and growth as Gardner was the  stopping point for many pioneers who were searching for prosperity in the late 1850's.  These pioneers recognized the potential of the area and then in 1870 the railroad was established.  This led to Gardner’s role as a transportation point for goods and services.  Out of the communities commitment to hard work and pride came the strong sense of community that is evident today.
