Evolution Of A New Year's Resolution

 | Resolution #1:
2005: I will read at least 10 novels.
2006: I will read at least 10 short stories.
2007: I will read at least 5 short stories.
2008: I will read at least 5 large print books to my children at bedtime.
2009: I will read all of the directions on the hamburger helper box.
Resolution #2:
2005: I will not visit the riverboat casinos more than once.
2006: I will not visit the riverboat casino more than twice.
2007: I will not make the riverboat casino dealers say "checks in play" or "black in action".
2008: I will pool every dollar I save by not going to the riverboats more than 5 times.
2009: I will go to Vegas on the money saved by limiting my riverboats visits.
Resolution #3:
2005: I will be a better husband to Rachel.
2006: I will be the best that I can be.
2007: I will pray that Rachel does not leave me.
2008: I will try and reconcile with Rachel.
2009: I will be a better husband to Chantal.
Resolution #4:
2005: I will not let Rachel boss me around.
2006: I will stop looking at other women.
2007: I will not find out if the grass is greener on the other side.
2008: I will never again seek a long term relationship.
2009: I will not let Chantal boss me around.
